A 38-year-old man has been arrested and charged following a robbery at a gas station in Hampton.
On Thursday around 4:30 p.m, members of the Hampton RCMP detachment were called to a robbery at a gas station on Main street.
A man wearing a mask came into the store, pushed an employee who was behind the counter and stole merchandise before taking off on foot.
Police were able to quickly find and arrest the suspect, a 38-year-old man known to be from the Sussex area.
The stolen merchandise was recovered.
While in police custody, the man tried to get away but police were able to take him back into custody within minutes.
Thomas Norman David Cole appeared in Saint John Provincial Court on Friday where he was charged with robbery, wearing a disguise with intent to commit an offence, and escape from lawful custody.
Cole was held in custody ahead of a scheduled bail hearing on Monday.
