But how can you tell the difference between the two viruses?
Moncton pharmacist Kyle Arbeau, associate owner of two Shoppers Drug Mart locations, said there are various similarities in symptoms.
“Most people, when they have COVID, or the flu, they get the achiness, the fever and that’s kind of consistent between the two. You can also get a cough with both of them,” noted Arbeau.
“The one major difference between the flu and COVID is that COVID does tend to have shortness of breath with it that would not be normal with the flu.”
The province began offering free flu shots to all those who are eligible earlier this month.
As previously noted, the flu shot and the COVID-19 vaccine can be administered at the same time.
