No serious injuries after a tractor-trailer slammed into a two-storey apartment building in central New Brunswick.
The crash happened along Route 8 in the community of Ludlow, near Boiestown, around 1 a.m. Monday.
According to the Canadian Red Cross, a dozen tenants from six apartments were displaced as a result of the crash.
“One man was thrown from his bed when the building was hit by the truck and its empty logging trailer, but no serious injuries were reported,” the organization said in a new release.
The most heavily damaged apartment in the seven-unit building was vacant at the time of the crash.
Canadian Red Cross volunteers arranged emergency lodging and purchases like food and clothing for three people from two apartments.
A family of four from another unit was helped through insurers, and the other five tenants stayed with relatives or friends.
