Mounties are now investigating the disappearance of a Woodstock-area man as a homicide.
And investigators believe his remains could be somewhere in central or southeastern New Brunswick.
Brady Tompkins was last seen at a home in Richmond Settlement on August 29, 2019.
He spoke to a family member by phone four days later, but his location was unknown.
According to investigators, Tompkins was living in the Moncton area at the time of his disappearance.
In a news release Monday, RCMP said they have received new information that his remains could be located in a wooded area between Carrolls Crossing, near Doaktown, and Berry Mills in the Moncton area.
Investigators said they also believe there may be a burnt vehicle in the same area that might be connected to the investigation.
Mounties have released a map of the area in question. They ask anyone who comes across a burnt vehicle, anything that may look like remains, personal belongings, or anything that could be suspicious in that area to contact the police.
Tompkins is described as approximately 6’7″ tall, weighing about 141 pounds, with a slim build, short brown hair, blue eyes, and braces on his teeth.
