Police are investigating after a woman was stabbed Friday on Peters Street.
Officers responded just before 3 p.m. on Friday to a parking lot after a stabbing was reported.
Police found a 40-year-old woman had sustained injuries as a result of an altercation.
She was taken to hospital where she remains in serious condition.
A 31-year-old woman, who is believed to be known to the victim, took off before the police arrived.
The Major Crime Unit and Forensic Services were called in along with Justice and Public Safety canine services who helped with a search of the area.
Investigators with the Saint John Police Force are urging the woman to turn herself in.
