New Brunswickers who use diesel and heating oil are getting a bit of an early Christmas gift.
Prices for both fuels dropped by more than 10 cents overnight after the Energy and Utilities Board invoked its interrupter clause.
The new maximum price for diesel is $2.09 per litre, a drop of nearly 14 cents.
Heating oil is down by nearly 13 cents to a new maximum price of $1.89 per litre.
It was the second night in a row that both fuels saw major price decreases. Diesel prices dropped more than 27 cents on Thursday night while heating oil prices fell more than 16 cents.
Diesel and heating oil prices have not been this low in New Brunswick since early October.
Meanwhile, gasoline prices did not change on Friday night. The maximum price remains at $1.52 per litre.
