The Saint John Police Force said Friday they arrested two people during a drug bust on Thursday.
Officers say the Integrated Enforcement Unit, along with the Sussex RCMP, arrested a 49-year-old man and 32-year-old woman in the community for drug related offenses.
During the arrest, police say they seized the following items:
- Approximately 1 ounce of a substance believed to be cocaine
- Numerous pills including what is believed to be hydromorphone
- $4,000.00 in Canadian currency
Investigators say both accused appeared in court on Friday and were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking hydromorphone, and possession of property obtained by crime.
Police say the pair were remanded to jail and will return to court for bail hearings on Jan. 3.
