As New Brunswickers get ready to ring in the new year, some will be saving a bit of money.
The Energy and Utilities Board invoked its interrupter clause Friday night to lower diesel and heating oil prices.
The new maximum price for diesel is $2.06 per litre, a drop of nearly eight cents. It is selling for a few cents less at most local stations.
Heating oil prices fell 7.5 cents to a new maximum of just under $1.87 per litre in the province.
The price of gasoline remains unchanged, with regular self-serve selling for a maximum of $1.58 per litre.
