A New Brunswick non-profit wants to strengthen social cohesion across Canada.
Dialogue NB is expanding its work nationally and has changed its name to Cohesia.
The non-profit organization made the announcement in a news release on Monday.
“There are many indicators that social cohesion is eroding in Canada, amplified by the pandemic,” CEO Nadine Duguay-Lemay said in the news release.
“Because of these indicators, we need more than ever organizations dedicated to strengthening social cohesion in the broadest sense for Canada.”

Cohesia said it wants to develop programs and initiatives that cultivate a sense of belonging in communities, organizations and schools.
The organization already offers awareness, measurement and AREDI (Anti-Racism, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion) process products and services to organizations across Canada, said the release.
It also plans to organize public dialogues on national or specific provincial or community themes.
Jason Alcorn, chair of Cohesia’s board of directors, said there were no changes to the workforce as a result of the expansion.
“Dialogue NB staff are now working under the Cohesia banner. Each team member has a keen understanding of social cohesion issues, and skills that fit perfectly with our new national mission,” Alcorn said in the release.
Cohesia’s board includes 11 original Dialogue NB directors based throughout New Brunswick along with three new members located in Ontario, Quebec and Alberta.
