New Brunswick says it is one step closer to developing a housing strategy.
Housing experts will be invited to a series of consultations over the coming months.
A virtual housing workshop is set for Feb. 16, followed by an in-person housing summit in early May.
“We have made much progress in understanding the complex housing needs and available resources across New Brunswick through ongoing meetings, discussions, site visits and jurisdictional scans,” said Jill Green, the minister responsible for housing.
“Over the coming months, we will be bringing housing experts together to discuss issues, identify priorities, share ideas and collaborate on creative solutions.”
Green said they need creative solutions and collaborative efforts to see “impactful improvements” in housing quickly and over the long term.
She noted the province recently introduced a new housing website and one-on-one help from a housing navigator to help support residents.
