Three people have been arrested after reports of a gunshot in Saint John’s south end.
Saint John police said officers responded to Duke Street South just before 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
“It was alleged that a man had discharged a shotgun into the air,” police said in a news release on Monday.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, according to the police force.
Two men, aged 25 and 26, and a 20-year-old woman were arrested for weapon-related offences.
Police said officers also located a shotgun in a suspect vehicle parked in the middle of Duke Street.
The 26-year-old man was held in custody to appear in court on Monday on multiple weapons-related charges.
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old man and the 20-year-old woman were released on conditions and have a court date in May.
Investigators are appealing for witnesses or video surveillance of the incident to contact them.
