Saint John is developing a plan to transition the city to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
Now, the city is looking for your input on the Community Energy Action Plan (CEAP), being developed with Saint John Energy.
City officials said the plan will provide a path forward for Saint John to “reach its goals and develop priority actions such as generating local renewable energy, creating greener infrastructure and transportation, and reducing emissions from organic waste.”
“The CEAP will inform and provide a coordinated approach to addressing emissions and provide direction to update current City policies, plans, programs, and practices,” said the city.
An engagement workshop and information session will take place in the community room at the Saint John Police Force HQ on March 2 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Residents will be able to learn more about the plan and discuss the steps the city is taking to achieve its energy goals.
You can learn more about the workshop and the plan through Shape Your City Saint John.
