Bill Steele is no stranger to unusual activity at the former Dorchester Jail, which is now a bed and breakfast.
A new Paranormal show called ‘Repossessed’ chose to shoot an episode there, “Through word of mouth, they heard that this was a hot spot for paranormal activity and they gave me a call and asked if I was interested,” Steele says.
He adds, A large crew came from Toronto including Cameramen and other professionals, ” It was a TV show, like an antique roadshow type thing where people brought haunted objects from all across the Maritimes to these three paranormals. I had a large skull, but other people brought other things in. I’m kind of scared of that stuff. I didn’t hang around for any paranormal activity. So I don’t know if anything actually happened when they were here.”
Steele says it isn’t uncommon to get requests from individuals who love the paranormal to come to the former jail, “We’ve had people from all over the world come here and spend the night.”
But since the episode was shot, Steele says they’ve heard knocking on doors and he sometimes sees things, “We kind of just go with it. Things happen here every day,” he adds.
The episode of ‘Repossessed’ featuring the Dorchester Jail has already aired in the United States on the Hulu Network, but Steele says it is expected to air on the History Network in Canada at some point in the future.
He adds that the exposure is already drumming up business for the summer, “We’ve already had some inquiries. We have a group from the United States who booked the whole jail for a night after seeing the show.”
