Mounties have asked for an independent review after a man was injured during an arrest in Woodstock First Nation.
Police say they responded to a report of a domestic dispute on Maliseet Drive around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
“While police were attempting to make an arrest, a 45-year-old man from the community, sustained injuries,” said an RCMP news release on Friday afternoon.
The man was detained and transported to the hospital, where he was treated for undisclosed injuries and later released.
RCMP say they have referred the incident to Nova Scotia’s Serious Incident Response team for an independent investigation “following further review of the events.”
