Saint John police are looking for a suspect following a shooting on the city’s east side.
Officers were called to an apartment complex on Reading Crescent around 2 a.m. Monday.
A man told investigators he was injured during a shooting inside the apartment complex.
“The 46-year-old victim was transported to and remains in hospital at this time,” police said in a news release Tuesday afternoon.
Investigators did not provide any details about the extent of the victim’s injuries.
Police say the suspect is described as a man between the ages of 30 and 35, about 5’9″ tall with a thin build and a long dark beard.
He was wearing a black ball cap and what was described to investigators as a “high visibility” vest.
The police force did not provide any details about whether the victim may have known the suspect.
“No further information is available at this time, the Major Crime Unit continues to investigate,” said the release.
