Police have seized several weapons after an attempted armed robbery in Saint John.
Officers were called to the area of Sewell Street uptown around 11:40 p.m. Tuesday.
According to police, a taxi driver reported being assaulted during an attempted robbery at gunpoint.
Police say he sustained a non-life-threatening injury but managed to leave the scene and call 911.
The following day, a 32-year-old man was arrested for robbery in connection with the investigation.
He appeared in court on Thursday and was remanded into custody until a bail hearing on April 24.
The ongoing investigation led police to Morland Park on the city’s east side, where officers executed a “high-risk search warrant” on Kingfisher Road on Thursday morning.
Police said they seized three rifles, two air pistols and ammunition from the residence. Nearby residents were asked to stay inside while the police operation was ongoing.

Two men and a woman were taken into custody at the scene. All three have since been released from custody.
A 35-year-old man appeared in court Friday and was charged with unsafe storage of a firearm. He is due back in court in May.
A 44-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man were arrested for weapons offences; the man is also accused of breaching his probation. They are scheduled to return to court in July.
