A 22-year-old man is facing charges after a man was shot in Charlotte County earlier this week.
RCMP say the incident happened at a home on Glebe Road in Chamcook around 5:15 p.m. Monday.
“When police arrived at the scene, they located a 38-year-old man who was suffering from a gunshot wound,” police said in a news release on Wednesday.
The victim was taken to the hospital with what police believe were non-life-threatening injuries.
A man from Chamcook was arrested at the scene and appeared in Saint John provincial court on Tuesday.
The accused is charged with assault with a weapon, careless use of a firearm, and pointing a firearm.
He was released on conditions and is scheduled to return to court again on May 30.
“At the time, police believed the incident to have been isolated, and that there was no danger to the general public,” said the RCMP release.
