A woman from Saint John is the latest Atlantic Canadian to become a millionaire.
Jamie Sullivan won the $1-million top prize on the Casino Multiplier Scratch’N Win ticket.
Officials with Atlantic Lottery announced the winning prize in a news release on Friday.
Sullivan’s win came just one week after she chose to leave one of her two full-time jobs in exchange for more family time.
“Last Friday was my last day at my other job and so I actually had to call in rich,” Sullivan said in the news release.
With the win, Sullivan and her family decided the time was finally right to adopt a Boston terrier, who they have appropriately named Lotto.
She also plans to build a new home, help her recently-retired parents, and establish education funds for her children.
In addition, Sullivan said she plans to cross off some bucket list items by seeing Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire and George Strait in concert.
“It’s very surreal, very ‘pinch me I’m not sure if I’m dreaming,'” she said.
Circle K on Loch Lomond Road in Saint John, which sold Sullivan the ticket, will receive a one per cent seller’s prize.
