A Moncton woman was located alive and conscious, thanks to the help of the RCMP Police Dog Services team.
Because of the urgency of the matter, RCMP Constable Phil Presseau and service dog Jimbo were called in on Sunday to a Moncton residence.
A woman in mental distress had wandered into the woods and her family was concerned for her wellbeing.
Presseau and Jimbo immediately began a search and the woman was located.
She was then assessed by the Mobile Crisis Unit under the Mental Health Act and received essential medical care.
Codiac Regional RCMP says this shows how vital police dogs are when people need to be located quickly and safely.
