The New Brunswick Coalition for Pay Equity plans to cross the province on a tour with the theme ‘Stand up for your Rights’
Rallies are planned in the coming weeks in six communities to raise awareness and mobilize its members and the public on the issue of pay equity.
“At a time of economic insecurity and political instability, it’s all the more important for New Brunswick women to join together to voice their concerns and demand change,” explains Johanne Perron, the Coalition’s Executive Director. “That is why we are stepping up our efforts to urge all political parties to commit to supporting and enacting pay equity legislation for the private sector. This is key to fighting gender discrimination in the workplace.”
The tour focuses on pay equity, but will also address pay transparency and the urgent need for investments in wages in the care sector.
