Scotiabank confirmed to our newsroom that its branch in the community will close next spring.
In-person services will be relocated to the bank’s downtown Fredericton branch, 75 kilometres away, as of June 4, 2024.
“With customer preferences changing, and more day-to-day banking being done online, we are continuing to evolve how we serve our customers and invest in areas that make it easier for our customers to bank with us from wherever they are,” spokesperson Daniela Da Silva said in an email.
Da Silva said they will share further details with customers directly over the next few weeks.
She added the bank is committed to supporting its customers and employees through this transition.
This is the latest Scotiabank branch in New Brunswick to close its doors for good.
Branches in Bath, near Florenceville-Bristol, and on Grand Manan Island closed in 2022.
