Phase one of a 25-unit garden home community in Saint Andrews is now complete.
Van Horne Garden Homes celebrated the official opening of its first six homes last week.
Local developers Charlie and Colleen Bourgeois have been working on the project for several years.
They said the development will “fill a crucial gap” in the community by helping seniors maintain their freedom and independence.
“By providing seniors with the opportunity to remain in their communities through the establishment of garden homes, this project will contribute to the social fabric and harmony of the town,” the company said in a news release.
“It will not only enhance the quality of life for seniors but also ensure the continued growth and prosperity of the community.”
The homes are located on land at the corner of Mowat Drive and Bar Road in Saint Andrews.
Work has already begun on phase two, with the next garden homes set to be ready in April.
