The federal government will deliver its fall economic statement later this month.
Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland will present the update on Nov. 21.
“The Fall Economic Statement will provide information on the state of the Canadian economy and update on the government’s economic plan to help create good jobs, to build more homes, and to make life more affordable,” the government said in a news release on Thursday.
It will be our first look at the country’s fiscal situation since last spring’s federal budget.
At the time, officials were projecting a deficit of more than $40 billion for this fiscal year, but that number is now expected to be much higher.
