The Saint John Region Chamber of Commerce has appointed an interim CEO.
Carole Cunningham has been with the chamber for the past three decades.
Cunningham currently works as the director of events and administration.
“Carole has demonstrated exceptional support to the Chamber as well as to its members,” said Mohamed Bagha, the chair of the chamber.
“Her extensive background with the Chamber of Commerce/Board of Trade movement will be instrumental in continuing to drive the Chamber’s mission forward, and ensuring its continued success until a new CEO is found.”
Cunningham’s appointment follows the retirement of long-time CEO David Duplisea earlier in November.
Duplisea began his role with the chamber, then known as the Saint John Board of Trade, back in 2013.
“I decided that 10 years was enough time and it’s time to move over and let some younger talent take over,” Duplisea said in an interview at the time.
The chamber is undertaking a national recruitment campaign to find its next permanent CEO.
