The annual Monctonian AAA hockey challenge returns to southeastern New Brunswick this weekend.
The 42nd edition features 60 teams in three divisions (U15, U16, U18) from Atlantic Canada, Quebec and Ontario.
“The event is built around scouting, players moving on to higher levels, and it’s very exciting to see players develop,” said tournament chair Blair Brooks.
The event is highly scouted, with upwards of 150 scouts in attendance. They are from every Quebec Major Junior Hockey League team, as well as the Maritime Hockey League, universities and prep schools.
Brooks said some players have gone on to play professional hockey, including Nova Scotia’s Sidney Crosby.
Games begin on Thursday and continue through Sunday. The full schedule and other tournament info can be found by clicking here.
