Saint John police say an arrest warrant has been issued for a 47-year-old man wanted for robbery.
Police said a woman confronted a man leaving a security-locked building on Prince Edward Street around 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 26.
“The woman took a photo of the man using her cell phone to alert her landlord. The suspect then assaulted the woman and stole her phone,” police said in a news release on Monday.
The suspect fled the scene in a black sport utility vehicle, according to investigators.
Police said the victim suffered non-life-threatening physical injuries in the incident.
Investigators have identified the suspect as Oneil Alexander Morgan, also known as Omar.
“Detectives have made numerous attempts to locate the accused who is originally from Ontario,” said police.
Morgan is described as 5’9″ tall, weighing 210 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
He has scars on his right forearm, left forearm, and on the left side of his face.
Anyone who sees Morgan is asked not to approach him and to contact the Saint John Police Force at 506-648-3333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
