Thousands of students in the Anglophone South School District will have the day off on Tuesday as a result of the latest storm.
All schools in the St. Stephen Education Centre will be closed “due to power outages and to lessen impact on restoration efforts,” the district announced Monday evening.
Charlotte County was one of the hardest-hit areas in the province from this storm, with thousands of homes and businesses left without electricity.
There are 15 schools in the St. Stephen Education Centre, according to the district’s website, including:
- Back Bay Elementary School
- Blacks Harbour School
- Campobello Island Consolidated School
- Deer Island Community School
- Fundy High School
- Grand Manan Community School
- Lawrence Station Elementary School
- Milltown Elementary School
- Pennfield Elementary School
- Sir James Dunn Academy (Saint Andrews)
- St. George Elementary School
- St. Stephen Elementary School
- St. Stephen High School
- Vincent Massey Elementary School (Saint Andrews)
- White Head Elementary School
Belleisle Elementary, Belleisle Regional High, Fundy Shores and Hammond River Valley Elementary schools are also closed due to power outages.
NBCC Saint Andrews will also be closed today for the same reason.
Meanwhile, power outages have also closed most schools in the Anglophone West School District. The full list of schools that are still open can be found on the district’s website.
