A Sussex man is facing charges following a sexual assault investigation.
RCMP began investigating in October 2023, looking into several alleged offences including drug and human trafficking and sexual assault.
A 26-year-old man was arrested in December.
He was charged this month with 13 offences, including:
- Four counts of sexual assault
- Three counts of sexual interference
- Sexual assault with a weapon
- Three counts of invitation to sexual touching
- Assault
- Uttering threats
- Breaching a release order
He’ll remain in custody with another court appearance on January 29th.
“This is still an active investigation and we are working diligently to understand if there are other victims,” says Staff Sergeant Tyson Nelson of the Southeast District RCMP. “We also want people to know that a sexual assault complaint can be made at any time and there is no statute of limitations as to how long ago an offence occurred. If you are a victim of a sexual offence, please call us. ”
