The Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation has a new president and CEO.
Vice-president Shannon Hunter will move into her new role as of April 1.
She will replace current president and CEO Jamie Gallagher, who is returning to the private sector.
“Our community has tremendous passion and dedication for improving health care access and delivery,” Hunter said in a news release.
“I am honoured to continue leading our team in inspiring others to join our mission to advance health care services for patients and their loved ones, in New Brunswick.”
Hunter is no stranger to the foundation. She first joined the organization in 2020 and currently serves as vice-president.
Gallagher said he feels Hunter is well-positioned to move into the role that he is leaving.
“Shannon has the experience, skills and credentials to lead the Foundation into the next chapter,” he said.
“Her strategic approach, track record for inspiring generosity, prioritization of donor stewardship and passion for advancing health care in the region will take the Foundation – and the impact our donors help us to make – to new heights.”
Hunter’s appointment follows a board-led selection process. The board unanimously approved the committee’s recommendation to appoint her to the role.
The foundation will undertake a process to recruit the role of vice-president in the coming weeks.
