Extra money is coming for seniors who need it most in New Brunswick.
$200 low-income seniors supplements were mailed across the province as of Monday.
More than 44,000 people were eligible for the one-time payment, provincial officials said.
The supplement, announced in November, is in addition to the existing $400 low-income seniors benefit.
Officials said that the benefit will be permanently increased to $600 annually starting this year.
Applications for the 2024 benefit will be available starting on April 1.
To qualify, you must be at least 60 years old and have received a benefit under the Old Age Security Act in 2023.
