Saint John Transit workers have a new tentative collective agreement with the city.
Bargaining teams on both sides reached a tentative deal on Wednesday, the city announced Friday.
“Details will be available once both sides have ratified the agreement,” said a news release.
The Saint John Transit Commission will be asked to approve the new agreement at a meeting on Feb. 4.
On that same day, the executive of ATU Local 1182 will ask its membership for ratification at a separate meeting.
“Representatives worked collaboratively to reach the tentative agreement despite challenging fiscal realities,” said the city release.
Transit workers have been without a contract since last January. Negotiations began in June.
