This summer will mark the 10th year of the Third Shift arts festival in uptown Saint John.
President Lindsay Jacquard said this year’s event aims to showcase projects that “plumb the depths of the human psyche.”
“Psyche encompasses the entirety of our inner world,” said Jacquard. “It’s an invitation to artists to navigate the profound complexities of consciousness and the human condition, transcending boundaries and creating new intersections of thought and expression.”
Manny Travers is the executive director of the Third Space Gallery, which puts on the event. Travers said the festival encompasses many styles of artwork, from audio-visual projects to sculpture installations.
“After a decade of creativity and community, we’re thrilled to introduce the theme of ‘psyche,’ inviting artists to delve into the depths of the human mind, exploring emotions, perceptions, and consciousness,” said Travers.
Travers said artists have until March 10 to submit their proposals for the festival.
Organizers are also looking for volunteers to help supervise the artwork that will be installed in the uptown area.
The 10th anniversary of Third Shift will take place from Aug. 16 to 18.
