Hundreds of people remain without electricity after high winds tore through New Brunswick on Wednesday.
Nearly 2,000 homes and businesses were without power as of 5:30 p.m. Thursday, according to NB Power.
The majority of the outages are in southern areas of the province, which were forecast to see the highest winds.
- Kings/Queens: 996 customers
- Kennebecasis Valley/Fundy: 918 customers
- Central York/Sunbury: 24 customers
- Carleton: 13 customers
- Sackville/Port Elgin: 10 customers
- Moncton/Riverview/Dieppe: 7 customers
- Charlotte Southwest: 6 customers
- Victoria/Madawaska: 6 customers
- Acadian Peninsula: 4 customers
NB Power said crews are actively working to restore power and will continue to do so as long as conditions are safe.
“We have approximately 300 individuals supporting restoration efforts and are relocating crews to the most impacted areas,” the utility said in a social media post shortly after 10 a.m. Thursday.
The Saint John Airport had a peak wind gust of 102 kilometres per hour, while Sussex had a gust of 98 kilometres per hour.
