Six people have been arrested following a five-week drug trafficking investigation in Saint John.
Police said two women and four men were arrested Thursday for drug trafficking-related offences.
Following the arrests, officers searched two vehicles and executed a search warrant at a Sandy Point Road residence.
Police seized suspected cocaine, crack cocaine, fentanyl, ecstasy and a variety of pills, including hydromorphone, methylphenidate, and oxycodone — all with an approximate street value of $10,660 — along with $390 in cash.
A 37-year-old woman has been charged with five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of proceeds of crime.
She was held in custody following a court appearance on Friday and is scheduled to return to court on March 21 for election and plea.
A 45-year-old man also appeared in court on Friday charged with possessing cocaine and breaching a court order. He had also been arrested for an outstanding warrant on two counts of trafficking cocaine.
He was also held in custody and is scheduled to return to court on Monday for a bail hearing.
Two men, aged 34 and 37, and a 36-year-old woman were later released from custody on undertaking to return to court on May 7, 2024.
A sixth person, a 33-year-old man, was released from custody without charges.
Officers previously searched the Sandy Point Road home in January and allegedly seized $161,000 worth of drugs, along with a .22 calibre handgun, a .22 calibre rifle, more than $8,100 in cash, digital scales, and cell phones.
