The Town of Quispamsis is looking to increase the efficiency of the permit application process.
A new Development and Building Permit Application Portal was launched on the town’s website this week.
All building, renovation, development, water, and sewerage permit applications must now be done online.
“The online submission automatically triggers a compliance review process through the town’s Planning and Development Services without delay,” said a news release from the town.
Officials said the online portal will speed up the approval process and allow permits to be issued more quickly, which means applicants can begin their projects sooner.
The portal also provides the option to apply for permits relating to multiple projects at the same time rather than having to make separate submissions.
“Planning and Development Services staff will have more opportunities to assist applicants, in person and online, while significantly reducing any delays due to missing information,” said the release.
A computer kiosk has been set up at town hall for those without internet or computer access.
Planning and Development Services staff are also available for consultations at town hall weekdays from 10 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4 p.m. through March 22.
