If you’ve found it challenging to travel around the Fundy region, a new survey could help to change that.
The Fundy Region Service Commission (FRSC) has teamed up with University of New Brunswick students to create a survey about transportation needs in the region.
Findings from the survey will be compiled and analyzed by the students to produce a report on transportation needs to the FRSC.
“Something we can learn from this survey is asking people about the service they need, and we may discover that some of the services may already exist and just need to be better promoted,” said Nick Cameron, the commission’s transportation manager.
The survey is for those living in Grand Bay-Westfield, Saint John, Rothesay, Quispamsis, Hampton, Fundy-St. Martins, Mispec, Kingston Peninsula, Browns Flat, Welsford, and other rural communities in the Fundy Rural District.
Cameron says the rising cost of living has been the most discussed. He says they have noticed new settlement patterns where people are moving to less expensive locations where they might not always have the services new residents need.
“Public transit is a great option, but it’s a service that just isn’t available everywhere, so we need to understand if there is an interest,” he says.
The survey, which should take about 15 minutes to complete, will ask basic questions such as your age, employment, and current method of transportation.
