Environment Canada (EC) has issued a rainfall warning for a long episode of rain, at times heavy, for central and southern New Brunswick.
Additional rainfall amounts of 10 to 20 millimetres are expected by Saturday morning, with the highest amounts along the Fundy coast.
EC stated that similar storms in the past have caused road shoulder erosion, washouts, and hazardous driving conditions.
Rain will change to snow Friday night over western sections and Saturday morning in the east with significant runoff from snowmelt continuing for any areas with remaining snow.
EC said that heavy downpours can cause flash floods, water pooling on roads, and localized flooding in low-lying areas.
