A well-known Charlotte County business is not letting a recent fire keep it down.
McKay’s Wild Blueberries in Pennfield lost its equipment garage in a fire on Friday night.
The farmstand, receiving station, and adjacent homes were not impacted by the fire.
In a social media post on Wednesday, McKay’s said the farmstand will open as usual in late April.
“As terrible as the fire was, we won’t let that stop us!” said the post.
The business also thanked locals who have offered the use of their tools and garages to keep them going.

Eastern Charlotte Fire Rescue Chief Justin Johnston said they were called to the business at 9:46 p.m. Friday.
Eleven fire trucks from Fundy Bay, St. George, Blacks Harbour, Pennfield, and Bonny River responded, with extra support from the Musquash Fire Rescue Department.
“To have it under control, it took roughly an hour and a half,” said Johnston.
The Office of the Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
