A Grade 12 student from the Saint John area has received international recognition for the impact she has left on her school.
Olivia MacLeod of Kennebecasis Valley High School was recently named the Jostens Renaissance National Student of the Month for all of North America.
MacLeod is only the second Canadian student to receive this honour, with the first also being from KV High in June 2020.
It recognizes students who have made an impact within their school or community through Jostens Renaissance.
The program revolves around six Rs: Respect + Reward + Recognize + Reinforce + Relationships = Results.
MacLeod was nominated by teacher Melissa Wright, who is the Renaissance Coordinator at KV High.
Wright said MacLeod’s dedication has shone through from the moment she joined the team in her Grade 9 year.
“She takes every opportunity that comes her way. Her dedication to our team does not go unnoticed,” Wright wrote in the nomination.
“While this is her Grade 12 year and we will miss her next year, the impact she has left on our Renaissance team and school will not go unnoticed.”
Meanwhile, KV High has also been recognized as a Renaissance Platinum school of distinction for the third year in a row. It is the only school in Canada to receive this distinction.
