The Saint John Police Force has arrested a 38-year-old man following an attempted break-and-enter.
Officers responded to reports of an attempted break-in on Douglas Avenue at around 10:20 p.m. Tuesday.
Police allege that the suspect had tried to force his way into the residence.
He was found near the back of the residence and taken into custody without incident.
A member of the K9 Unit was on the scene and searched the area. The dog had smelled something that led police to discover further evidence of the incident.
The accused was released on an undertaking to appear in court this August.
