Hundreds of early childhood educators in New Brunswick will soon have access to literacy training.
The province announced a new partnership on Tuesday with the Literacy Coalition of New Brunswick.
Officials said 400 early childhood educators in the anglophone sector will receive training over the next four years.
Talk, Sing, Read Everyone, Everywhere! training includes coaching and mentoring so that early childhood educators can feel confident about their skills.
“Early childhood educators have indicated they would like to build their skills and confidence in the literacies highlighted in the New Brunswick Curriculum Framework for Early Learning and Child Care,” Early Childhood Development Minister Bill Hogan said in a news release.
The department will provide staffing for this initiative while the coalition will provide $1.26 million of in-kind support.
According to provincial officials, the funding was given to the coalition by an anonymous donor specifically for this purpose.
