A Saint John pharmacist is being recognized by his peers for outstanding community service.
Jason Steeves received the Bowl of Hygeia at the New Brunswick Pharmacists’ Association’s annual conference on Saturday.
The award is presented to a pharmacist who goes beyond their professional duties, making valuable contributions to the community, the province, and the country.
According to the association, Steeves was a leader in encouraging fellow pharmacists to offer immunizations and treat minor ailments in pharmacies.
The owner of Steeves Pharmasave was also commended for his volunteer work with his church and his leadership during the pandemic.
Steeves organized vaccination clinics in the north end and Crescent Valley communities and for 12 elementary and middle schools in Saint John and Rothesay.
