A group of Saint John entrepreneurs and businesses have teamed up to welcome the summer season with a bang.
The inaugural Vicky Day Weekend will take place during the Victoria Day long weekend from May 16 to 19.
Organizers said the event was born out of the excitement of creating something new, inspiring, ownable, and electric.
Ray Gracewood, founder of the AREA 506 Waterfront Container Village, said the event is a true testament to the creative power of collaboration.
“We open our gates this weekend every year, but now it feels that we’re part of something much bigger and more exciting. Our plan is to make Vicky Day weekend something the people of Saint John will look forward to for years to come,” said Gracewood.
More than 60 retailers and businesses have signed up for the Vicky Day Weekend Passport Program.
You can visit and explore businesses in the city and collect stamps that can be redeemed for prizes from the participating businesses.
Passports can be picked up at any participating business starting May 13. A full list can be found by clicking here.
Organizers said those businesses will also offer unique experiences, specials, in-store pop-ups, and custom menus.
The event will also feature live entertainment at several locations, including the first two Waterfront Concert Series shows at the container village featuring rock icons Sloan on Friday and Pretty in Pink on Saturday.
