Hey Saint John! Here’s my wrap up of last weekend: May 25/26 and a look ahead to this weekend: June 1st and 2nd.
I kicked off Saturday bright and early at the Rompin’ Rockwood Trail race where over 300 people were running in one of the three race distances. There were 10k, 25k, and 50k distances to chose from. This event did not disappoint. I was there at 7:30AM and when I came back at 4PM after work to run on my own, the party was still going! People stuck around to cheer on finishers from the 50k and partake in post-race barbeque goodies. Put this on your race calendar for next year!
Saturday afternoon saw me at Fairview Bowling Lanes for the Big Brothers Big Sisters fundraising event. We had loads of fun and raised great money to help give youth around town access to mentorship opportunities.
A slightly wet Sunday saw me at the HMCS Brunswicker for the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s. This was a touching event that I was so happy to have been a part of. Thank you to the organizers for having me and letting me help in little ways through the morning.
Last but not least!! The Loch Lomond Farmer’s Market is a relatively new one that you do not want to miss. Every Sunday from 12-5 in the Home Hardware Parking lot on Loch Lomond Road is an amazing assortment of vendors from SUPER TASTY and fresh mini-doughnuts to hand-made/crocheted emotional support pickles, they’ve got it all. These guys were so great to meet, and they would love to get some more traffic through there this year. Add it to your Sunday stopping list. You certainly will not have any issue finding a good parking spot unlike some other hotspots around town. Check it out. They’re going to keep adding to the vendor list through the summer so keep your eye out!
