Six people have been arrested in connection with a months-long drug trafficking investigation in Saint John.
Police said they made three separate traffic stops between March 14 and May 17 as part of Operation RED.
On March 14, two people were taken into custody during a traffic stop in which two loaded firearms were found in the vehicle.
A 36-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman were charged with possessing a stolen vehicle as well as multiple weapons offences. They both remain in custody and have a court date on July 24.
Then on March 21, police said they found a stolen Honda Civic in the 100 block of McAllister Drive.
Officers found a bag with more than $65,000 worth of drugs including crystal meth, fentanyl, meth pills, cocaine, and hydromorphone.
Two women, aged 41 and 44, were charged with possessing a stolen vehicle and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
On May 17, investigators stopped a vehicle and seized more than $75,000 worth of crystal meth, fentanyl, and cocaine.
They also found a one-ounce gold bar worth $3,365, a total of $1,925 in cash, drug paraphernalia, several knives, and fake gas coupons.
A 38-year-old woman, a 44-year-old woman, and a 28-year-old man were arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon, and proceeds of crime.
The man and the older woman were held in custody, while the younger woman was released with a future court date.
