Hundreds of people from across Atlantic Canada will gather in Saint Andrews this week.
The first Southwest Business Summit will take place Wednesday through Friday.
Coordinator Hannah Leavitt said this is the first event of its kind in the area.
“We started planning last fall, and it’s an initiative to help grow business in the area for our southwest region,” Leavitt said in an interview.
Many of Canada’s top speakers and workshop facilitators will be presenting, including Elizabeth Eldridge, Sherri Deveau, Pierre Battah, Eddie LeMoine, and Steve Foran.
The event will include 15 workshops covering topics such as recruitment, human resources law, and mental health in the workplace.
There will also be a large trade show, a gala award dinner with comedian James Mullinger, and a closing brunch with world-renowned Chef Michael Smith.
“There are some fun activities and excursions planned off-site, so delegates can go golfing, whale watching, go to a spa, or go to visit Kingsbrae Garden,” said Leavitt.
Leavitt said she hopes participants will be able to learn while also connecting with others in the business community.
There are still some tickets available through the Southwest Business Summit website.
