Canada’s governor general announced 83 more appointments to the Order of Canada on Thursday.
The latest list released just ahead of Canada Day includes pop punk artist Avril Lavigne from Ontario.
Also on the list are former Bank of Canada governor Stephen Poloz and veteran journalist Joyce Napier.
Four Atlantic Canadians will also receive one of Canada’s highest honours, though none are from New Brunswick. They include three from Nova Scotia and one from Newfoundland and Labrador.
Appointees will be invited to an investiture ceremony at a later date to receive their insignia.
More than 7,600 people have been appointed to the Order of Canada since it was created in 1967.
