A large fire has broken out at Burgess Transportation Services in Petitcodiac.
Fire crews were called to the business located on Smith Street on Tuesday evening.
Photos on social media showed black smoke and large flames coming from the roof of the building.
Some residents living near the business also reported hearing a number of explosions.
Firefighters from several neighbouring departments are reportedly on the scene.
It is unclear at this time whether anyone was hurt in the fire.
According to its website, Burgess Transportation employs 60 people.
New Brunswick premier offers help
Premier Blaine Higgs says this is a devastating fire. He expressed his thoughts on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday night.
“It’s devastating to see photos of Burgess Trucking in Peticodiac on fire tonight. Our thoughts are with the first responders who are dealing with the situation and to all of those whose livelihoods are affected by this loss,” said Higgs.
“Minister [Greg] Turner will have officials reach out to gain a full understanding of the impact and see if there are opportunities for assistance.”

Fundy Royal MP Rob Moore also took to social media.
“Sorry to hear about the fire at Burgess Transport in Petitcodiac tonight. Thinking about the Burgess family and the entire team at this time. Thank you to the firefighters who are dealing with this event,” he wrote.
The community is also pulling together this morning, supporting firefighters who battled the blaze.
Posts on social media show volunteers making sandwiches, and local businesses also offered supplies.
