Five QMJHL players have claimed the gold following Canada’s defeat of Czechia at the 2024 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
Twenty-two Canadian Hockey League players won gold after Team Canada’s 2-1 win in Saturday night’s final in Edmonton, Alberta.
Caleb Desnoyers of the Moncton Wildcats and Liam Kilfoil of the Halifax Mooseheads tallied Canada’s goals.
Canada’s victory marked the third year in a row they’ve won this tournament and the 25th time they’ve brought home gold from the Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
The CHL says the golden squad included nine players from the Ontario Hockey League, eight from the Western Hockey League, and five from the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League.
In addition to Desnoyers and Kilfoil, QMJHL players among the 22 gold winners are Lucas Beckman of the Baie Comeau-Drakkar, and Alez Huang and Émile Guité, both of the Chicoutimi Saguenéens.
