Here is your chance to get stocked up on books ahead of the fall and winter months.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Saint John is gearing up for its 19th annual Big Book Sale.
Executive Director Laurie Collins said there will be something there for everyone.
“We will have several rows of tables and books in a whole bunch of genres,” Collins told our newsroom.
Collins said they get more than 100,000 books for the six-day sale, which means they are constantly rotating the stock that is available.
The non-profit organization is hoping to raise a record $25,000 during this year’s sale.
“It is our second-largest fundraising initiative behind Bowl for Kids Sake and we rely on it a lot, and I think a lot of people rely on it to get their winter reads,” said Collins.
Big Brothers Big Sisters provides direct service to children by matching volunteers and youths in quality mentoring relationships.
The book sale takes place on the lower level of Brunswick Square in Saint John. It will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. next Monday, Aug. 19, to Friday, Aug. 23.
